So we are through the first three performances of JC Superstar. All is going well. I’m really enjoying playing flute and clarinet. Even though that means I am missing out on some higher paying gigs playing saxophone…. It’s going to be nice to have a few days off playing the show but I’m starting to settle into it and we (the reed section) are playing really well together. The band has a great full sound, so nice to play with such great musos while having such a good time. Check out www.oscanet.com.au for more info

At the moment, I am performing in the Old Scotch Music & Drama Association’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar. I thought I would be playing saxophone but I am actually playing clarinet and flute. It has some challenging sections but it is really fun to play. It’s great playing with a 23 piece band and not being the only reed player for a change. The last few shows I have done I’ve been the only one.
It’s Opening Night tonight!! We had an excellent preview performance last night and I think we’re all looking forward to a great season. The show is running on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and a Sunday matinee for the next 3 weeks. Shows are 8pm and the matinee at 2pm. I’ll provide more details later….
