So I’ve had a few days away from my blog but I’m back!!!

I’ve just added a new page which I am going to update with videos from YouTube. Hopefully this will be a resource for my students that they can come to directly and check out things that we have discussed in our lessons instead of having to search for them on YouTube itself. Will have to see if the parents let them come to my site.

So today I got to play an Eb soprano clarinet for the first time. Wasn’t planning on it as I hadn’t been able to get a hold of one but the other reed player for Assassins who was at rehearsal today (Kara) had one and has let me use it. Was interesting to play, quite fun actually but I am finding my hands a little large for it. I have brought it home to have a little practice at some stage before the next rehearsal. Also got to play some bass clarinet, clarinet, piccolo & tenor sax. At least two of the reed players will be playing 6 different instruments in this show!!! It’s gonna be a workout!!

This afternoon I start playing in another musical. This one is called Assassins and is based on the assassinations (funny that!!) of some American presidents. I don’t know much about it except it has some challenging reed books. I’ll be playing Eb clarinet (if I can get hold of one otherwise will be playing those parts on alto sax), clarinet, tenor sax and bass clarinet. Really looking forward to the challenge. I’m not doing the entire season, just a couple of rehearsals and about 4 shows. Then tonight I play with Carlito’s Way at the Night Cat in Fitzroy.
