This afternoon I start playing in another musical. This one is called Assassins and is based on the assassinations (funny that!!) of some American presidents. I don’t know much about it except it has some challenging reed books. I’ll be playing Eb clarinet (if I can get hold of one otherwise will be playing those parts on alto sax), clarinet, tenor sax and bass clarinet. Really looking forward to the challenge. I’m not doing the entire season, just a couple of rehearsals and about 4 shows. Then tonight I play with Carlito’s Way at the Night Cat in Fitzroy.

Well we had a very successful season of Jesus Christ Superstar. I enjoyed playing flute and clarinet immensely and it was fantastic to be part of such a great reed section and such a sensational orchestra. Ben Hudson is an outstanding MD and great fun was had by all.
I’m now getting back into my saxophone playing again having had 3 gigs on the weekend. Have some more gigs coming up this week with Carlito’s Way and starting rehearsals for a Christmas gig where I’m play flute, clarinet, tenor sax and bari sax. Should be fun!!

It was so nice to play my tenor saxophone again tonight. It’s been a while cos I’ve been playing flute and clarinet for the show. Only three of those to go!! Definitely need to get some sax playing in during the next few days to get back into it. It felt good in my hands though….
