Had to pop home to pick up my baritone saxophone for a rehearsal tonight. Looking forward to playing it cos I haven’t played my bari sax for quite a while. Should be a fun rehearsal too!

Nice late start at school tomorrow because of camp and swimming events. I’m really looking forward to holidays starting in just over a week.

I’ve just been booked to play another show. I’ll be playing in Parade for St Michael’s College. The shows will be on at the Atheanuem Theatre in Melbourne. I’ll be playing bass clarinet, clarinet, flute, tenor and soprano saxophone. I believe there will be student’s playing as well which will be interesting. I’m also playing in Nova’s production of Chicago in May so there are a few conflicts with rehearsals and shows.

Must run…..

I have not added a new post to my blog for quite some time. I have a few minutes spare now, am sipping on some nice red wine sitting next to my wife so thought I would jot down a few thoughts.

I can’t believe we are up to almost the end of March of 2011 already. I have now been married a little over 2 months and am really enjoying the experience. I have been busy playing, teaching and working on our internet ventures. It’s been a good year for our internet business so far, having made more this year already than all of last year combined. I’m looking forward to seeing that grow onward and upward over this year and beyond.

I started a new teaching job this year, as the second saxophone teaching at a local school in Essendon. It’s been a tough start there with some of the students not being aware of the new timetable and new teacher. I think the last time I taught there we have managed to get everything sorted and I have now met all the students. I’m looking forward to heading there tomorrow.

I’m also doing some fill in teaching for the last few weeks of Term 1 in Dandenong. That is interesting to say the least but a good challenge for me in terms of patience and organisation. We got a lot of things sorted out on Friday so perhaps by the next time I am there the program will run a little smoother.

I’m learning all about Joomla! at the moment. I am looking into possibly be the webmaster for a friend and he is wanted to use Joomla! for the site. I have had some fun playing around with it so far but need more time to dig deeper. I also want to do more blogging and work with WordPress so I can enhance my skills. There’s just not enough hours in the day….

Going to do my best to write a bit more frequently, just to keep things updated and develop a bit of discipline. Hope you’ve had a great weekend!

So for any of you out there that actually read any of what I write here you will have noticed that recently there were a whole lot of posts about internet marketing. I am doing some of that but those posts were not from me. I signed up for something that automatically places posts on your blog for free, which in turn of course promotes them. I have decided that this is not the blog site for that application so have deleted it. I am as yet undecided whether I will create another blog and use it on there.

Apart from that, I hope that everyone had a great Christmas time. I am really looking forward to the New Year but there is lots to do before then. I have a gig on NYE which will be fun and as I didn’t have one booked just a couple of weeks ago, the extra money will be handy! I’m playing a James Bond show with the Dizzy’s Big Band at the Sandringham Yacht Club.

We are also getting our scuba certification and have a few dives organised in the next few weeks. I am looking forward to finishing that up to build my confidence with it even further but also so we will be free to dive when we go to Phuket in a few weeks.

Must run for now, plenty to do and we should get offline for a while. Catch you all soon!
